Webbie was a young company founded by young avid entrepreneurs who wanted to jump into the import/export industry by looking at trending products that would perform well on the Dutch market. Initially, the founders were confused and had no idea about which direction they would like to take. Like many people that we speak to in The Netherlands, entrepreneurs choose one of the following three business models. Dropshipping, Amazon FBA, and Bol.com.
After one consultancy, we managed to pinpoint what they would like to achieve which was to sell retail products. Given their experiences which was minimal and their low (to no) starting capital, we showed them that Bol.com was the best route for them to start. We shared with them that most people choose to start with dropshipping but that most entrepreneurs who have amassed a large following on the internet and through social media glorify their earnings and that there is a lot more work that goes on behind-the-scenes for dropshipping than what most people see. After the founders shared their skills and proficiencies, we clearly saw that Bol.com was the safest route for them with potential for high growth too. Especially since they wanted to try and sell many different items to see what would work and what would not.
The biggest roadblock that these entrepreneurs faced was not having the knowledge to sell anything online. They had no prior knowledge about effective product listings, sourcing products from abroad, and the entire logistical process from start to end. Additionally, like most starting out, creating a profitable business model was something that was completely new to them.

Over the course of just a few weeks, the founders managed to list a ton of products on their own Bol.com seller account generating a few sales per month. In the first month, revenue averaged in the three figure range but after the ball started rolling, they broke through four figures in the third month. Now they truly were motivated to continue and persevere by listing more products using the knowledge we taught them and by scaling. By the end of the first year, they were already clearing five figures comfortably.
On top of this, they were in constant contact with many suppliers and manufacturers in China (where they source their products from). This was a huge advantage for them as their network gave them access to new and unreleased products in the market which gave them an everlasting advantage in the world of e-commerce. This also came with the benefit of being able to order a large bulk of products at one time which helped them cut costs and improve on their deliverables.
